Alcohol in public

There are some restrictions on drinking alcohol in public places in a long strip of Arrowtown from the river up, bounded by Bush Creek Road, Manse Road, Caernarvon Street, Wiltshire Street, Hertford Street, Suffolk Street, Centennial Avenue and Jopp Street. Note that this includes all the QLDC riverside reserves.

• No drinking between 6pm and 6am every night of the year
• 24 hour alcohol ban during Christmas and New Year from 6pm on 26 December to 6am on 6 January the following year.

A breach of the alcohol ban area is an offence and an infringement notice may be issued ($250).
