It may not seem like the most thrilling subject in the world, but QLDC’s Traffic and Parking Bylaw is up for revision and they’d like your input. The draft bylaw is available on the QLDC website and submissions on it close this Friday 12 October. Some of the changes from the old bylaw are:
- Giving Council the power to issue infringement notices or remove vehicles that are parked on grass verges.
- Allowing buses to pick up and drop off passengers outside designated bus parking zones.
- Providing for Council to establish special vehicle lanes e.g. bus lanes.
- Providing for Council to establish residents’ parking areas or zones.
You can find more information about the draft bylaw (and learn how to make a submission) here.
