Foreign Nationals Support Programme extended until end November 2020

The government’s Visitor Care Manaaki Manuhiri programme helps foreign nationals meet basic needs while they explore options to return to their home country or are able to secure alternative means of support for themselves. The programme began on 1 July and has now been extended through to the end of November 2020. Click here for more information.

New South America repatriation flight on 7 October

Xtravel has secured a further seats on a LATAM cargo flight departing Auckland on 7 October at 5.50pm and arriving in Santiago 12.55pm.  Pricing (NZD):

Auckland to Santiago $1990
Auckland to Sao Paulo $2645
Auckland to Montevideo $2475

These seats are exclusive to Xtravel and expected to sell out quickly. LATAM has also advised it will not be returning commercially for the rest of the year. Upcoming events

Do you know of anyone who needs advice on visa issues or are looking to return home?  Kia Kaha Queenstown Lakes workshops start on Monday 5 October, offering a wide array of free sessions for community members to attend in Queenstown and Wānaka. The workshops will provide accurate, independent information and advice regarding current job opportunities in the district, business support, retraining and career advice, along with income support options available for those interested.  

Jobbortunities then follows on Saturday 10 October from 10am to 3pm at the Queenstown Memorial Centre, with plenty of employers and training providers on site with thousands of job vacancies and opportunities available. Leading companies like Fonterra, Danone and Silver Fern Farms will be present as well as plenty of others. Sectors of work include agriculture, horticulture, viticulture and more.
